Discovery Classes

Discovery classes are offered during our Wednesday evening programming. A meal is provided beforehand for a small charge ($3/person or $10/family); and child care is also available. Meal time begins at 5:30 pm; and all programming and classes begin at 6:05 pm. The ending time for classes is varied - some last until 7:30 pm.

As Discovery classes are available, a link to register is provided below each class description.

Discovery 101

If you’ve been visiting with us and want to know more about Towne South Church of Christ, if you’ve been thinking about membership at Towne South, or if you’ve never attended the Discovery 101 class, we encourage you to do so. Our goal is to eventually have every member and attendee complete this class. If you want to discover more about living the Christian life, some of our basic beliefs, and Towne South’s over-all plan and strategy, this class is for you.

Discovery 201

How would you like to grow closer to the Lord? Maybe you need a boost in your relationship with Him. If so, Discovery 201 is the seminar for you. The focus of this class is on the habits every Christian needs to develop in order to grow spiritually. These habits include such things as bible study, prayer, fellowship and stewardship. This class equips you with the skills you need to begin these habits and explains the tools you need to continue these habits.

Discovery 201 will begin on Wednesday, October 17.  To register, complete the following form!

Discovery 301

This class helps you identify your God-given passion, spiritual gifts, and personal style. God has designed each of us in such a way that we have a unique contribution to make in the body of Christ, the church. The goal is to help you get plugged into a ministry. Having the right people in the right place for the right reason is what this class is all about.

Discovery 401

A mature Christian is a multiplying member of the Church. Multiplying members are those who are active in sharing their faith with friends, neighbors, family, and co-workers. This seminar teaches you how to build bridges with people so that you may have an opportunity to share the gospel with them. This seminar consists of four sessions.

Serve

Serving starts here. Volunteer at church!

“Jesus says, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

We are a church on the move! We need every church member to act on faith and move within the walls of the church through service. Think about a church without small group leaders, weekend tech folks, communion preparers, gardeners, greeters, etc. What would it be like? Reaching in to our church family prepares the church for action. That’s what a church on the move is all about - and it all starts right here at home! Everyone is needed to make this church move down the many paths on which God places us.

As a church, we value serving. Because we are a growing church, we continually have new volunteer needs in order to reach those God brings through our doors. God has chosen us to serve; and through our actions, attitudes and words, we will impact the Kingdom of God and the lives of His people for eternity.

At Towne South, we strongly believe that each person is designed with a purpose — a purpose to live our lives for Christ.  Through this, we use our talents and gifts to serve Him and grow His kingdom. We are made to serve Him. We hope and pray that you will take a few moments to explore our site and all of the opportunities we have to get involved at Towne South.

Get Started

To get started, take a look at our "Places to Get Involved" below. You can also take the first step by reviewing and completing our Volunteer  Form and background check

PLACES TO GET INVOLVED

Each year, our ministries continue to grow and thrive based on the commitment from their volunteers. Without our faithful servants, we at Towne South could not glorify the Lord and continue to reach out to others.

We have tried to make the process of finding a place to serve at Towne South as simple and straightforward as possible. As you know, there are levels of service; and on the "Levels of Service" page you will find examples of what each level represents.

The following is a list of ministries that you can choose to get involved with and serve through.

If you are interested,  please complete the Volunteer Interest Form and you will be contacted by the appropriate ministry leader. Contact Janice Provost if you have any questions. Email: janice@tscoc.com
