There’s no shortage of churches today, so what makes Towne South and the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ unique? This movement, rooted in early American frontier history, seeks to return the church to the ideals of the New Testament; pursuing unity in faith, freedom in opinion, and love in all things.
Leader Thomas Campbell expressed it this way: the church of Christ is meant to be one. As Ephesians 4:3–6 reminds us, we are called to maintain unity through peace: one body, one Spirit, one God and Father of all.

Our Beliefs
We believe the Bible is God's Word and is the final and sufficient authority for truth, for life, for belief, for behavior and for the Church and its purpose, strategy and function.
God the Creator & Ruler
God created everything, both the visible and invisible, and reigns over it all. From the beginning, God made the heavens and the earth and rules with authority over all creation (Genesis 1:1).
The Nature of God
There is one true God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Scripture reveals the oneness of God and His triune nature as Father, Son, and Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19).
The Authority of Scripture
The Bible is God’s true and trustworthy Word, revealing who He is and how we are to live. All Scripture is inspired by God and cannot be broken, guiding us in truth and relationship with Him (2 Timothy 3:16; John 10:35).
Created with Purpose
Every person is created in God’s image with inherent value, dignity, and purpose. From the beginning, God created humanity in His image, giving each person worth and identity (Genesis 1:26–27).
The Person of Jesus
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, fully God and fully human, sent to save the world. Born of a virgin and living among us, Jesus reveals God in the flesh as our Savior (Matthew 16:16; Matthew 1:18).
Sin and Salvation
All people have sinned, but through Jesus’ perfect life, death, and resurrection, we can be forgiven and restored to God. Though we all fall short (Romans 3:23), Jesus died for us in love and rose again to bring redemption and new life (Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:15–21; 1 Corinthians 15:3–7).
Response to the Gospel
God calls every person to respond in faith to His Word and receive new life in Christ. Through hearing and believing (Romans 10:17), turning from sin, and being baptized, we receive forgiveness and the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).
Jesus Alone Saves
Jesus is the only way to a restored relationship with God and the source of eternal life. Salvation is found in no one else, as Jesus alone is the way, the truth, and the life (Acts 4:12; John 14:6).
Hope & Eternity
Those who belong to Jesus live with confident hope in His resurrection and the promise of eternal life. Because Jesus rose from the dead, we are cleansed from sin and assured of life with Him forever (1 John 1:7; 1 Corinthians 15:12–23).
The Church & Commmunity
The Church is one body under Christ, called to live in unity, love, and shared mission. Believers are united as one in Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12ff), with no barriers between us (Galatians 3:28; Colossians 3:11).
Our Mission
The Church exists to make disciples and help people grow in their faith in Jesus. Jesus sends us to go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to follow Him (Matthew 28:19–20).
Spirit Led Living
Followers of Jesus are called to live holy lives, empowered and guided by the Holy Spirit. As we reflect God’s character (1 Peter 1:14–16), the Spirit equips and strengthens us to live faithfully (Ephesians 4:7).
Christ For All People
The Gospel is for everyone, inviting all people into unity and new life in Christ. In Jesus, all are welcomed equally into God’s family, regardless of background or status (Galatians 3:28; Colossians 3:11).
Christ’s Return & Judgement Day
Jesus will return, and every person will stand before God, with eternal life found in Him alone.God has appointed a day of judgment through Christ, who alone secures our eternity (Acts 10:42; 17:31).
God’s Design for Marriage
Marriage is God’s design: a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. From creation, God established marriage to reflect His purpose and faithful love (Mark 10:6–9).
Our Values
We believe the Bible is God's Word and is the final and sufficient authority for truth, for life, for belief, for behavior and for the Church and its purpose, strategy and function.

Gospel-Centered
The gospel of Jesus isn’t just where our faith begins, it’s the center of everything we do, shaping our message, fueling our mission, and reminding us that we are saved and transformed by His grace alone.

Firmly Planted
We are rooted in God’s Word, trusting the Bible as the foundation of our faith, the authority for our lives, and the unchanging truth that shapes and equips us to live boldly for Christ. Planted

Better Together
We believe following Jesus is meant to be done together, as a family of faith that encourages, supports, and strengthens one another to grow and live out God’s mission.

All In
We don’t hold back. Our time, talents, and lives belong to Jesus. We follow Him with open hands and obedient hearts, trusting that surrender is the path to true life.
